"I was born and raised in Makassar, South Sulawesi. Makassar is well-known as a trading city, full of different ethnicities and colonial places. I'm the second of four children. My parents divorced when I was five years old. My mom is the only parent I really know. She worked hard day and night just to be able to feed us. She inspires me to be a strong, independent person who must chase my dreams and work for them. I love art, and I like to create something unique. I draw the design that I am inspired to create, and give it to an artisan who works hard to bring it to life. I sit and talk with every artisan, and I believe each one has his or her own art, soul and skills. Each design, like bracelets and bags, is sewn exclusively by an individual artisan. We use genuine cow, sheep and goat leather, and work with manual sewing tools. My goal is to introduce my Indonesian leather designs to the world."
